silhouette paintings & monoprints

01

These are from a series of 40 prints and 20 silhouette paintings, The painting were done on vintage wall paper samples and the prints on vellum and monoprinted newsprint. The mono printed newsprint was made by my 21/2 year old granddaughter when we have studio time together, the image I added on later.

swaddled doll series

01

These drawings and paintings are a part of a series started after seeing the beautiful terra cotta votive people and the Giotto frescos in Italy. The votive sculptures were made and left at the grave to invite the gods to inhabit the sculptures to protect from evil. Swaddling is a form of protection, and safe space for an infant.
